FAQs
General
What is ENMEI?
ENMEI is a strength-based, pilates-inspired, movement practice designed around precision, control, and time under tension.
Using custom resistance-based equipment, each class develops strength, stability, endurance, and body awareness through intentional movement and continuous muscular engagement.
Our approach is guided by the philosophy of longevity, building strength that supports life beyond the studio.
Who is ENMEI for?
ENMEI is suitable for all experience levels.
Whether you're new to strength training or an experienced mover, our coaches provide modifications and progressions to help you move safely and effectively.
How often should I train?
Consistency is key.
Most clients see the greatest benefit from attending 2 - 4 classes per week, while allowing adequate time for recovery between sessions.
Are there different class levels?
All ENMEI classes are designed to be accessible while remaining appropriately challenging.
Your coach will provide options and adjustments based on your experience and ability level.
Your First Visit
What should I bring?
Wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in.
Grip socks are mandatory for all classes.
Water bottle to stay hydrated.
Do I need grip socks?
Yes, grip socks are required for safety, hygiene, and optimal use of the equipment.
If you don't have a pair, grip socks are available for purchase in-studio.
How early should I arrive?
If it's your first class, we recommend arriving 10 - 15 minutes before class begins.
This allows time for check-in, equipment introduction, and a brief overview of the method.
Returning clients should aim to arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts.
What happens if I'm late?
For safety reasons, first-time clients and Intro classes cannot be admitted once class has started.
Returning clients may enter up to 5 minutes after the scheduled start time.
After this point, entry is not permitted.
Where should I store my belongings?
Personal belongings can be stored in the designated cubbies or storage areas provided within the studio. For safety reasons, bags and personal items should not be kept around the equipment during class.
During Class
What should I expect?
ENMEI is a 50-minute, full-body strength experience built around controlled resistance training and continuous tension.
Classes focus on precision, alignment, and intentional movement rather than speed or impact.
Why do my muscles shake?
Muscular shaking is completely normal.
The slow tempo and sustained tension create deep muscular fatigue, particularly within stabilising muscle groups. It is often a sign that the muscles are working effectively under load.
Can I rest during class?
Absolutely.
We encourage clients to move with awareness and listen to their bodies Rest when needed, then rejoin when you're ready.
Quality of movement is always prioritised over intensity.
What if I have an injury?
Please inform your coach before class begins.
Where appropriate, we can provide modifications and alternative movements.
If you are recovering from a significant injury or surgery, we recommend seeking medical clearance before attending.
